Their message was unambiguous: overthrow capitalism.
Their social media call to action? “Want to get organized to overthrow capitalism? DM us.”
Their soundtrack? “Guillotine” by The Coup, featuring the line: “We got the guillotine, you better run.”
This wasn’t satire. It was a recruitment drive.

The event was reportedly funded in part by George Soros-backed organizations, and its messaging was steeped in class warfare, anti-Americanism, and revolutionary fervor.
Despite the NYU branding, the university disavowed any official connection. But that’s the trick: these groups don’t need institutional approval. They operate in the gray zones of academia and activism, using the prestige of elite campuses to launder ideology into legitimacy.
